Reynaldo Ruiz Montes

June 23, 2021

.Reynaldo Ruiz Montes, 71, a resident of Pearland, TX, went to be with his Savior in Heaven on June 23, 2021 in Houston, TX. Reynaldo was born in Brownsville, TX on September 14, 1949, he was of the Baptist faith and his favorite scripture was Psalm 23.

Reynaldo was a true patriot of Texas and a devout Astros fan. His hobbies were fishing, spending time with his grandkids, listening to oldies, and taking long drives with his wife. He loved to make those around him laugh and made friends with complete strangers. He had his own nicknames for just about everyone.

He loved his family deeply and cherished the love they all had for him.  He was immensely proud of his daughters and son in law. His grandchildren meant the world to him and prayed that they would know Jesus as he did.

At the end of his life, Rey’s wishes were for his family to have no more tears or sadness for him, only to remember him like he was, full of life, jokes, and stories. Most of all, he wanted them to have joy and laughter in their hearts. He used to say, Texas was the promised land, so we all hope God can rename Heaven, “Texas,” just for him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesusa and Juan Montes, his brother Charles Montes, John Montes, sister Alma Ochoa, and his beloved Chloe (Chamaka)

Reynaldo leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Janie Montes; daughters: Stephanie Montes, Daisy Ann Montes Luera, and Liaza Montes Flores, husband Adam; grandchildren: (Animal), Jesse Ray Rubalcava, wife Ji, (Pappo Sappo), Katy Renee Williamson, husband (Moonshiner), Bryce, (Guerriche), Derrick Matthew Rubalcava, (Pumpkin), Joshua Angel Garcia, fiancé Ana Esquivel and son (Cowboy),   Jesiah, (Oy),  Matthew Anthony Luera, (Guerriche), John Michael Luera,
