Change Happens, alongside Young Invincibles (YI) and other partners, will host a one-stop health shop event at the Interactive College of Technology from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

“This Houston Health Coalition event will bring needed healthcare and community resources to one location," said Change Happens Navigator program coordinator Stacey Thompson. "Texas still has the highest uninsured rate, so we wanted to help bring a solution to the Houston community and provide as many resources as possible to start the change in this city.”

The event will provide COVID-19 booster shots, on-the-spot health insurance aid in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese, HIV testing, and COVID-19 and flu information. Raffles and free food will also be available, and the first 25 attendees will receive a $50 HEB gift card. The event's goals are to bring critical health resources to the Houston community, to keep residents informed on the latest health information, and to keep them healthy as the holiday season approaches and they begin to gather with family and friends.

Change Happens' mission to "help people empower themselves" is fulfilled by providing dynamic programs aimed at addressing social, health, and educational issues that benefit those they serve. The organization also works with other organizations to increase affordable housing, economic redevelopment, services for children and families, and community engagement.

Young Invincibles is a national advocacy and policy nonprofit organization that focuses on boosting the voices of young people at all levels of politics.
