Lemon Lime Light Media has issued the following press release:

Houston, Texas - In Spring 2019, Houston StepFest made its debut as one of Houston's premiere step shows at Texas Southern University. With over 900 attendees and 10 participating local step teams, StepFest provided a family-friendly atmosphere while enlightening the youth about the Historically Black College or University (HBCU) culture. The winning teams won $1,000 in cash and over $5,000 in other prizes.

StepFest will return this year, after 2 years due to the pandemic, at Worthing Early College High School, where  students and youth will get insight from representatives from Clark Atlanta University, Texas Southern University, Morehouse College, HBCU Alumni Association, and other HBCU campuses.

Lemon-Lime Light Media has partnered with Kraft Heinz to bring HBCUs to one of HISD's top Early College High Schools. The show will be hosted by Kiotti of 93.7 The Beat and Co-Hosted by entertainer De'Karr Bradshaw. The winning team will receive an all-expenses paid college tour presented by Kraft Heinz to Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Clark Atlanta University in February 2023 along with $2,000 for the winning team, a $100 gift card for each stepper, a photoshoot and more.

"We are excited to partner with Kraft Heinz to bring this amazing community event to our youth,” said La’Torria Lemon, founder of Houston StepFest. “Our goal is to enlighten, uplift, and inform our youth through the arts, dance, and creativity. As a proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University, I am excited to bring local students to my HBCU campus. With the help of Kraft Heinz, we plan to make dreams a reality one student at a time.”
