A Missouri City police officer who’s running for Houston mayor has been accused of domestic violence, per reports from Houston-based media outlets.

Robin Williams is among the more than five people who seek to succeed term-limited incumbent Sylvester Turner in the November race.

Houston CBS affiliate KHOU reported that authorities arrested and charged Williams with allegedly beating her boyfriend with a baton.

KHOU reported that the incident was purportedly caught on camera.

According to the report, the 32-year-old U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) veteran was issued a $15,000 bond and ordered to not have contact with the victim and possess a firearm, as well as relinquish her concealed carry permit.

Citing court documents, the station reported that Williams, who announced her bid for the Bayou City’s highest office nearly a year ago, allegedly engaged in domestic violence twice.

Houston FOX affiliate KRIV reported that a deputy with the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable's Office was summoned to Williams’ residence on New Year’s Eve.

The station reported that after Williams returned home, she and her boyfriend began arguing.

The unidentified victim claimed Williams punched him and struck him with her service baton, saying she had done the same thing earlier that summer, per KRIV.

The incidents were believed to have occurred after Williams entered the Houston mayoral race.

Houston Daily reported in February 2022 that Williams intends to apply her experiences as a Marine as leader of the nation’s fourth-largest city.

Per the publication, her platform has a strong emphasis on law enforcement, with improving relations between police and the public among her top priorities.
