The actor who portrayed one of the most recognizable sci-fi characters in history plans to pay the City of Houston another visit.

Comicpalooza organizers said on the event’s website that William Shatner will make an appearance on May 27 during the three-day pop culture convention at the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) in Downtown Houston.

“Captain James T. Kirk is trekking his way to Houston for Comicpalooza!” the event’s Facebook page announced.

The 92-year-old Shatner played the leader of the USS Enterprise in the first “Star Trek” television series in addition to films, books, comics, webisodes and video games.

Born in and native to Canada, Shatner was successful in evading the typecast trap as he went on to star in other shows such as “T.J. Hooker,” “3rd Rock from the Sun” and “The Practice,” per Comicpalooza.

According to the online music database AllMusic, Shatner transitioned into music at the height of his Captain Kirk heyday, releasing a spoken word album in 1968.

He also recorded deadpan covers of popular songs, most notably “Rocket Man” by British singer Sir Elton John.

Per AllMusic, the actor released a blues album in 2020 and country and Christmas-themed albums in 2018.

Shatner made an appearance earlier this year at Smart Financial Center in Sugar Land where he hosted a one-night screening of the iconic “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” and discussed his experiences as an actor.

According to Houston NPR affiliate Houston Public Media (HPM), Shatner got the opportunity to travel to space last year as a passenger aboard a capsule launched by Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin company.

"I was crying," he said in the report. "I didn't know what I was crying about. I had to go off some place and sit down and think, what's the matter with me? And I realized I was in grief."

Fans can purchase passes to see Shatner on Eventeny’s website.
