Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo lost her composure twice during a Harris County Commissioners Court meeting on Tuesday, even as much uttering a four-letter curse word, according to reports from Houston-based outlets.

Houston CBS affiliate KHOU reported that Hidalgo, a Democrat, had a tense exchange with Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia, a fellow Democrat, and said the expletive that starts with the letter F when referring to Harris County District Attorney (DA) Kim Ogg.

KHOU reported that the 32-year-old county judge went on an apparent tirade against Garcia when he interrupted her while she discussed a new county program, the Uplift Harris initiative that seeks to give up to 1,500 lower-income households $500 a month for a year and six months.

Hidalgo verbally clashed with the commissioner after he raised an issue about which families will receive assistance under Uplift Harris.

"I think it’s either, you know, we support it or we don’t support it, commissioner," she said, KHOU reported.

When Garcia, a former law enforcement veteran at the city and county levels, purportedly interrupted Hidalgo, she responded, "Excuse me, but you take a liking to interrupting the women, so let me finish."

"And let the director finish, we’re not going to do noises, but I’m just calling out so people can go back and watch previous meetings of Commissioners Court,” the county judge continued. “So, I’ve got the microphone, sir. Excuse me."

Previous tensions between Hidalgo and Ogg were allegedly brought back to light at the meeting when the former proceeded on a rant about the latter, who’s also a Democrat.

The five-member body was discussing a crime-fighting effort that would involve pairing at-risk youth with mentors when Hidalgo expressed her disgust toward the DA.

"If my colleagues want to put this in the district attorney’s office or the sheriff’s office, let’s take a vote and let’s be on the record about who wants it to go where," the county judge said, Houston FOX affiliate KRIV reported. "So that I can then go explain to my community what else we’re doing, because some of us are wrapped around the little finger of a woman who, I don’t know what the f--- she’s threatening you with."

Houston Daily reported in May 2022 that Hidalgo, who was first elected to the county’s highest office in 2018, insinuated the DA’s office planned to indict her as part of a criminal investigation into a failed COVID-19 vaccine contract the commissioners approved then cancelled.

Hidalgo claimed Ogg was bent on derailing her chances at securing a second term in the most recent midterm elections.

Hidalgo ultimately won reelection by defeating Republican challenger Alexandra del Moral Mealer.
