The Houston Texans Foundation is expected to benefit from the season premiere event with proceeds going toward youth causes. Hosted by the Houston Texans football team, the event is scheduled to take place Thursday, Aug. 31 at NRG Stadium and will be presented by Amegy Bank.

“Giving back to our great city is at the heart of who we are as an organization and funds raised at this special evening will help us amplify our efforts to make a meaningful impact across our community year-round,” said Texans Foundation Vice President Hannah McNair in a news release.

According to the release, the second edition of the season premiere will be led by McNair, along with Kathleen Caserio, Jamila Ryans and Jamie Grissom from the Lady Texans.

Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with notable figures from the Houston Texans organization, such as CEO Cal McNair, general manager Nick Caserio, head coach DeMeco Ryans, President Greg Grissom, TORO, Legends, Cheerleaders, and Lady Texans, as they will witness the grand unveiling of the 2023 team. The evening will also include games, live music, live and silent auctions, and a dinner prepared by Berg Hospitality.

“The season premiere will be a wonderful way for us to celebrate a new season with our team,” Janice McNair, co-founder and owner of the Texans, said in the release. “No one is more excited for this season of Texans football than I am, and I can't wait to see the team on the field this fall.”

The release states the debut event held last year successfully generated more than $800,000 in funds to bolster the Texans' ongoing mission of instilling hope in the Houston community.

Over the years, starting from 2002, the Texans Foundation has accumulated $45.3 million in support, dedicated to uplifting the next generation of Houstonians through various initiatives focused on education, character development and health and wellness.

According to the Texans website, the Houston Texans Foundation's primary objective is to improve and enrich youth lives as the foundation recognizes that young individuals hold the key to the future.

The website states that the foundation has partnered with three main organizations, the Houston Texans YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston and the Houston Food Bank. These three organizations receive 75% of the foundation’s support.
