MOMentum Supper Club, a new mentorship program for Houston-area mothers, will kick off its first session in September after the school year begins. Founded by Early Childhood Specialist and Parenting Coach Ann McKitrick, MOMentum Supper Club will give parents an opportunity to learn alongside other community parents in a like-minded environment.

Creator of Texas Child Care Training and Nurtured Noggins, McKitrick has garnered expertise in the parenting realm through her role as a conference speaker and an early childhood specialist. Since 2013, Texas Child Care Training has delivered online professional development to numerous childcare professionals annually.

After three decades of higher education experience, McKitrick decided to start MOMentum Supper Club as a platform for mothers to foster personal growth alongside their parenting skills.

“As a mom, while I absolutely loved parenting my three children, I longed to be in community with other moms in ways meaningful to me,” said McKitrick in a news release. “I was, and still am, a dreamer and entrepreneur at heart. If I’d had an older woman come alongside to encourage me to pursue those dreams in ways that could fit in with full-time parenting, I’d be at a different place today.”

On a monthly basis, participating women will convene for a meal, receive instructive sessions led by McKitrick and engage in discussions. The topics covered during these sessions are designed to empower mothers, encompassing themes such as embracing full self-responsibility, clarifying personal objectives, harnessing the potential of goal setting and freeing oneself from inhibitions.

“I want moms to feel encouraged and seen. To create a path to get from where they are to where they want to be,” said McKitrick in the release. “We’ll do this by creating space for them to clarify their purpose, create a vision, set some goals/intentions for moving forward, and cover it all with hope, love, and connection. This is exactly what we need to get through a wearisome, sometimes mind-numbing grind of caring for those beautiful children that we love so much.”

MOMentum Supper Club is adaptable to diverse settings, being offered to corporate groups, nonprofit organizations, women's collectives and faith communities as a series of speaking engagements or as an immersive two-day workshop and retreat experience.
