The notion Globe Life Field is seemingly like a second home to the Houston Astros continues to ring all the truer as the incumbent World Series champions won a second straight game over their hosts, the Texas Rangers, 10-3 to bring the Lone Star themed, best-of-seven American League Championship Series (ALCS) to a 2-2 tie.

“It’s great to get off to a good start,” infielder Alex Bregman said in a short video the Astros posted on X on Oct. 19.

Bregman, who won the 2017 and 2022 Fall Classics with the Astros, was referencing the team’s newfound resurgence on offense on the road in Arlington that was missing at home. CBS Sports reported that Houston made easy work of Game 4 starter Andrew Heaney the same way it did Max Scherzer in Game 3. After the Astros scored three runs on four hits in just the first inning alone, Heaney, who throws left-handed, left the mound in favor of Dane Dunning.

Texas subsequently erased the visitors’ 3-0 lead, but in the fourth inning, a Yordan Alvarez sacrifice fly followed by Jose Abreu’s monster three-shot homerun (HR) gave Houston a 7-3 lead, according to USA Today. From that point on, the Astros kept the Rangers’ bats cold while continuing to take advantage of their hosts’ bullpen game.

Game 5 of the all-Texas ALCS is on Oct. 20 at 4:07 p.m. Each team’s Game 1 starter – the Astros’ Justin Verlander and the Rangers’ Jordan Montgomery – is slated to appear on the bump. According to CBS Sports, the winner of Game 5 usually has the best odds of clinching the series. Last year, the Astros didn’t require a Game 5 since they swept the New York Yankees.
