Cart.com has announced its decision to relocate its corporate headquarters back to Houston in an effort to better support its rapidly expanding operations. This move is largely facilitated by Houston's strategic benefits including a central location, robust transportation infrastructure, and its status as a dynamic business hub.

"I couldn’t be happier to bring Cart.com back home to Houston as we continue to revolutionize how merchants sell and fulfill products to meet customers anywhere they are," Omair Tariq, the company’s founder and CEO, said in a Nov. 20 press release. The idea for Cart.com was born in Houston and we’ve always maintained a strong local presence with the majority of our executive team and board based here," added Tariq.

Cart.com, established in late 2020, focuses on providing unified commerce and logistics solutions enabling both B2C and B2B companies to market and fulfill orders anywhere their customers might be. After merely one year of operation, it relocated to Austin following seven strategic acquisitions.

The company's rapid growth over less than five years has seen it build a customer base of 6,000 entities, supporting over $8 billion in gross merchandise value through 14 omnichannel fulfillment centers across the nation. These centers cover more than eight million square feet of space.

Moreover, Cart.com believes that relocating back to Houston will enhance connectivity among its seven corporate offices worldwide – including those in Poland and Mexico – alongside its 14 U.S. distribution centers. Bob Harvey, President and CEO of the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP), lauded Cart.com’s return as one of America’s fastest-growing unicorns while highlighting the diverse economy and talent pool that make Houston attractive for growing businesses.
