Ex-Houston Texans wide receiver, Andre Johnson, is aiming for a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Having played for the Texans from 2003 to 2014, Johnson now stands as a semi-finalist among 25 modern-era players.

Andre Johnson, a Miami native and third overall selection in the 2003 National Football League (NFL) Draft, holds every Texans record for receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and 100-yard games, based on franchise records. He was Houston's first true superstar prior to the arrival of defensive powerhouse J.J. Watt in 2011.

According to Pro Football Reference data, Johnson's performance includes playing a total of 193 games where he achieved 1,062 receptions for 14,185 yards and scored 70 touchdowns. After departing from the Texans post-2014 season, he spent one year each with division rivals Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans before retiring after the culmination of the 2016 season.

The Houston Daily reported that Johnson has been eligible for induction since 2019. His status was further solidified when he became the first person enshrined in the team's Ring of Honor in 2017. This recognition cements his legacy as one of the greatest players in franchise history.
