HISD to Hold Military Career Day for Seniors

Houston Independent School District (HISD) is set to organize a Military Career Day for high school seniors on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Following the success of a similar event held for high school juniors in January, HISD aims to provide guidance to graduating students who are interested in pursuing a career in the military. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse located at 2020 Mangum Road, Houston.

During the Military Career Day, seniors and their families will have the opportunity to learn about the various educational benefits, financial incentives, and diverse career options available within the Armed Forces. The event aims to shed light on the wide range of roles, technologies, and experiences that the military offers to both officers and enlisted personnel.

"The Armed Forces offer careers in every field including engineering; medicine; accounting; computer programming; and more," said a representative from HISD.

All HISD seniors and their parents are invited to attend this free event. To ensure a smooth experience, students who register in advance will be provided with lunch, and transportation will be available from their respective high school campuses. Interested students are advised to check with their school to sign up for transportation.
