The Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Houston recently celebrated Black History Month by highlighting the inspiring stories of three individuals who embody the spirit of creativity, hard work, and resilience. Dave Cook, executive director of the Wolff Center, emphasized the importance of honoring these stories that showcase courage, faith, and determination passed down through generations.

One of the individuals honored was Jonathan Brown, who, inspired by the reputation of the Wolff Center, delved into the world of business and co-founded ReImagine Biz, a business strategy company. Brown shared how the Wolff Center helped him gain a deeper understanding of the business world and provided him with the tools to assist small to mid-sized businesses in achieving their goals.

Boma Cheetham-West, a Wolff Center alum and current mentor, transformed her passion for building playlists into a successful marketing agency called BomaCurates, specializing in sonic branding. Cheetham-West highlighted the power of sonic branding in influencing consumer behavior and expressed gratitude for the lessons she learned at the Wolff Center that enabled her to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape.

Michael Talley, another honoree, credited the Wolff Center for instilling in him valuable skills in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Talley shared how the mentorship he received at the Wolff Center reminded him of the guidance he received from his family members, emphasizing the importance of passing down knowledge and experiences to future generations.

Danna Ceron, program director at the Wolff Center, expressed pride in the achievements of these individuals and reiterated the center's commitment to nurturing the dreams and aspirations of all its students. As Black History Month came to a close, Ceron emphasized the ongoing celebration of the rich history and contributions of Black entrepreneurs within the Wolff Center community.
