Recently released data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis indicates that the Texas economy is currently the fastest-growing in the U.S. This development, announced on April 2, was met with a positive response from Gov. Greg Abbott, as per a press release issued by the Office of the Texas Governor.

"Texas is again outpacing the nation in economic expansion and job growth thanks to the best business climate and the strongest workforce in America,” Abbott, a Republican, said in the release," said Abbott, according to Office of the Texas Governor. "Across every region of this great state, Texas offers hardworking Texans the freedom to aspire."

Gov. Abbott stated that Texas, being the eighth-largest economy globally, is home to numerous innovative businesses and globally recognized brands. He further described it as a place where future developments are taking shape. The press release highlighted that Texas's real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 5.0%, significantly outpacing the rest of the U.S for six consecutive quarters.

According to information from Gov. Abbott's office, preliminary estimates suggest that Texas's real GDP expanded over the previous year at an annual rate of 5.7%, once again surpassing national growth rates. Abbott expressed his state's commitment to building an even bigger and better Texas for future generations.

These statistics were made public more than two months after Gov. Abbott received analysis confirming Texas as the country's leading job creator. His office reported that employers across the state added 49,800 jobs in February alone, contributing to a continuous streak of job growth over 12 months.

In February, Gov. Abbott published the "2024 Report to the People of Texas," promoting his state as a U.S leader in attracting job-creating business investments and setting records for job creation.
