One of the four Houston firefighters who perished while battling a motel fire in 2013 is remembered with a coloring book, according to a report from Houston FOX affiliate KRIV.

Twenty-four-year-old Anne McCormick Sullivan was just a few weeks into her job with the Houston Fire Department (HFD) when she, Robert Bebee, Robert Garner and Mathew Renaud joined their colleagues at the now-defunct Southwest Inn on May 31, 2013, but were lost to the blaze.

Mary Sullivan told KRIV that her late daughter put in more than 5,000 hours volunteering for a couple of community fire departments before enrolling in the Houston Fire Academy.

Sullivan loves the coloring book made in memory of Anne, the station reported.

“It's a very positive way to remember Anne,” Sullivan told KRIV. "It's also a very educational tool for children."

She added that her daughter would love the coloring book.

"She was always a kid at heart, so I think she would really get a kick out of it," Sullivan said, the station reported.

According to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s website, Anne was born in Houston on Dec. 4, 1988.

One of four children, she graduated from the fire academy in April 2013 and was remembered for not letting her 5-foot-2 frame get in the way of realizing her lifelong dream, the website said.

The nonprofit organization’s page to her added that the academy created an award bearing her name that’s presented to cadets who best demonstrate “integrity, extraordinary responsibility and [a] never-quit attitude.”

Houston Daily reported in May that HFD pays a somber visit to the scene of the tragedy – located at 6855 Southwest Freeway near Houston's Sharpstown neighborhood – every May 31 to remember their fallen comrades.

In total, five firefighters were killed, with Captain Bill Dowling, who lost his legs in the incident, succumbing to his injuries almost four years later.
