Local ice cream shop, Howdy Homemade Ice Cream has had a busy year contributing to the Houston and Katy areas with their HISD Under Armour uniform and cleat giveaway and their efforts with Katy ISD’s special needs Joy Prom, where they sponsored hair, makeup, and ice cream for attendees of the prom. On a day to day basis, Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, supports their staff with disabilities to develop social skills, independence, and ensure a confidence needed for them to succeed in the workforce. Eager to extend the same support to the community, Howdy Homemade Ice Cream is hosting a Career Readiness Fair on Saturday, May 6th at 11am at their Katy location.

The fair will stand as a workshop for guests with disabilities of all ages, to learn how to build their resumes, speak with HR professionals about interview techniques, and also how to properly dress for an interview. Business casual attire is mandatory for attending guests, as there will be mock interviews taking place as well.

Along with HR professionals, there will be reps from local colleges in attendance to speak with those interested in applying for higher education.

Howdy Homemade Ice Cream looks forward to seeing those with disabilities who live in the surrounding communities stop in to gain knowledge, confidence, and a new outlook on the workforce community.
